London Fashion Week-Fall 2011

Following NYC's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, London designers showed off their flair at London's Fashion Week. It is fascinating to compare the different styles between the different cities.  London does edgy EXTREMELY well. Also, color is inherently natural in London collections. It stems from the city's Bollywood roots. Here are the go's and no's from this past week:

Go: Todd Lynn

Mr. Lynn's use of earth tones is perfect for fall.  Also, the monochromatic looks are slenderizing and sleek, which work great for all shapes and sizes.  Lastly, Todd Lynn mixes edgy, grunge pieces like the look on the right with more feminine softer pieces, like on the left, for a diversity that appeals to everyone. Love.It.

Go: Vivienne Westwood Red Label

Ms. Westwood's Red Label is youthful with a playful avant-garde puppet-esque theme mixed with wearable fashion.  From a tailored, girly suit to a cinched and ruffled military-style dress, Vivienne Westwood knows how to mix colors and patterns to create remarkable art. The red queen's crown is just an added bonus.

No: Katie Eary

There are no words…only cartoons characters.

No: Ashish

This collection looks like the English flag threw up on tweed and then ripped itself up to "stick it to the man". We understand you are an English designer; you don’t have to use the flag and outlandishly bright plaid to portray your nationality.
