Milan Fashion Week- Fall 2011

It's Milan's turn to strut its fashion stuff.  Elegance is the name of the game in this romantically charming Italian city. Here are some of the amazing looks from the runway and some that could be left on the drawing board:

Go: Gucci

I absolutely LOVE Gucci's fall line.  Floral accents and jewel tones are very feminine and the amazing mix of color contrasts give the line a modern feel. We also see the incorporation of fur, which is huge this season (see Carolina Herrera as well).  The whole Gucci collection is just stunning.

Go: Versace

Versace takes the fur trend in a different direction by incorporating feathers within the collection. This offers the audience something different to look at in the sea of fur this season. Also, the dichotomy of masculine versus feminine is a great theme for the fall.  The white beaded gown and canary yellow feather dress are feminine pieces contrasting the military style of this black suit jacket. Lovely!

No: Missoni

Missoni's color pallet reminds me of the easter bunny...definitely not what I would want to wear during the fall.  Furthermore, by incorporating all pastels together, there is no contrast to offer any depth of color. Furthermore, all pieces are quite bulky and overbearing.  There is no sexiness or showing of any skin. The whole collection is quite butch and awkwardly styled.
